On the banks of the Sumida River in Tokyo, the widowed Fukuie runs a traditional tabi (socks) shop left by her late husband. The shop is open to the neighborhood and welcomes her family to return at any time. When her estranged son and granddaughter unexpectedly return to their old home, the three generations of grandparents and grandchildren gather under the same roof for the first time in years. In this summer, they try to reconnect amidst the chaos of their lives, working to find the courage to face tomorrow.
