Han lives with his great-grandmother in a small mountain town. One day, Han comes across a dying sparrow; he brings it home and buries it when it has died. On the same day, Li, Han’s mother who has been away, calls, asking Han to come live with her in the city. Feeling helpless and lost, Han grows up while Li keeps struggling in one relationship after another and Greatgrandmother is on her last legs. They all feel like wild birds trapped in a cage, and how much strength do they need to fight against their fates?
