Restaurant hostess, Liu Fen-Fang, prepares a feast for the opening of her restaurant. Deep in her heart, however, she also experiences her most bitter moment. Her family is shattered when she hears about her husband’s affair. Fen-Fang asks her good friend, Yi-Rong, to help her manage the restaurant and start the negotiation with her husband.
Meanwhile, two of the restaurant's customers, a mainlander general and a local councilman, are in opposition. From refusing to give way to each other to giving in, the two of them eventually become in-laws. The multiple aspects of life are all portrayed through dining.
